How to choose bicycle components
-
Typically, the quality and price of the bike goes up as you choose higher quality components.
For less frequent and shorter distance rides, you can choose entry-level components such as: Shimano Turney, Altus, Claris or SRAM X3, X4,
For more frequent, longer rides, slightly higher level components: Shimano Acera, Alivio, Sora or SRAM X5.
For training and intensive and long rides, choose components of a higher class such as: Shimano Deore, SLX, Deore XT, Tiagra and 105 or SRAM X7, X9, NX, GX, X1, Apex, Rival and Force.
For competition, you should choose only the highest class components: Shimano XTR, Ultegra, Dura-Ace and Dura-Ace Di2, or SRAM X01, XX1.
